Who Uses CalmDost
CalmDost is intended for use by parents, legal guardians, or authorized caregivers who are
at least 18 years of age. The guardian creates and manages the account. The child is not the
account holder. Coaching sessions may involve the child’s voice when the guardian starts practice
on their behalf or with them present.
Data We Collect
1. Guardian account (phone sign-in)
We use phone number verification (one-time passcodes) to create and secure the guardian account.
We may store account identifiers needed to authenticate sessions.
2. Child profile information (provided by the guardian)
The guardian may provide a child’s first name or display name, age group (for example 3–5,
6–9, 10–13, or 14–17 years), communication preferences, and optional sensory considerations.
This information helps tailor coaching prompts and session preparation. We do not require a
child’s full legal name, photo, or government identifiers.
3. Coach and session preferences
Settings such as coach display name, language, voice selection, and related coaching preferences
may be stored to personalize practice sessions.
4. Voice coaching sessions and transcripts
When a practice session runs, the app uses the device microphone to enable real-time voice
interaction. Speech may be converted to text and processed to deliver coaching. Session metadata
(such as date, duration, event or scenario, and timezone) and conversation transcripts may be
stored in our backend systems to support session history, continuity, and product quality.
5. Guardian consent record
We store the version of the in-app consent you accept, the time of consent, and which required
consent statements were acknowledged. Certain features remain unavailable until valid consent is
on file.
6. Technical and usage data
We may collect standard device and application data (such as app version, platform, and
diagnostic logs) needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. We may use anonymized or
aggregated usage data for analytics and product improvement.
How We Use Your Data
Coaching and personalization
Profile and preference data are used to prepare and deliver age-appropriate, scenario-based
voice coaching aligned with the guardian’s choices. Session history helps guardians review
past practice and continue learning over time.
Product improvement
We may analyze anonymized or aggregated session and usage patterns to improve coaching quality,
reliability, and safety. We do not use personal identities for unrelated marketing purposes.
Not medical, legal, or emergency care
CalmDost provides supportive coaching only. It is not a substitute for professional medical,
mental health, legal, or emergency services. If you or your child are in danger or need urgent
help, contact local emergency services immediately.
AI Processing and Product Improvement
CalmDost uses artificial intelligence and third-party voice and language services to power
real-time conversations. To improve interaction quality, we may analyze conversation transcripts
and usage patterns using anonymized or aggregated data wherever possible. Personal identities are
not used for AI training in a way that identifies your child or household to unrelated parties.
Data Storage and Security
Cloud infrastructure
We use cloud infrastructure to store and process application data. Security measures include
encryption in transit, controlled access, and secure cloud storage practices operated by KSVARAMP
Voice Tech Private Limited and its subprocessors.
Encryption and access control
Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Stored data
may be protected using encryption at rest and strict access controls within our cloud
infrastructure.
No sale of personal data
CalmDost does not sell personal information about guardians or children to third parties.
Data Retention
Conversation transcripts and related session data are retained only for a limited period needed
to operate the product and show session history. CalmDost applies automatic purging of stored
conversation history on a periodic basis (approximately every six months), similar to our other
voice products, unless a longer period is required by law or you request deletion sooner where
applicable.
Data Residency
Data may be stored and processed on cloud infrastructure located outside India. By using CalmDost,
the guardian acknowledges and consents to transfer and processing in jurisdictions where our cloud
and AI providers operate.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party providers for authentication (such as phone OTP), real-time voice
communication, speech processing, cloud hosting, and AI language services. These providers
process data under their own privacy and security terms and only as needed to deliver the
service. We take reasonable steps to select providers that maintain appropriate data protection
standards.
Children’s Privacy and Guardian Consent
CalmDost is designed for guardian-managed use with children. We collect information about a child
only when a parent or legal guardian provides it and accepts in-app consent (including attestation
of guardian status, consent to voice sessions and transcript storage, and acknowledgment that
CalmDost is not medical or emergency advice). The child does not create their own account.
Guardians may contact us to ask questions about data we hold, request correction where applicable,
or request deletion of account and associated child profile and session data, subject to legal
and operational requirements.
Your Choices and Rights
You can update child profile and coach settings in the app. You may stop using CalmDost at any
time. To exercise privacy rights or ask us to delete data, contact us using the details below.
We will respond within a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will
post the updated policy at this URL and revise the Last Updated date. Continued use after changes
may require renewed in-app consent where applicable.
